frequently asked questions

OVERVIEW

What are peptides?

Short chains of amino acids your body already recognizes. They act as signals telling your body to recover faster, sleep deeper, or burn fat more efficiently. They work with your biology, not against it.

Do I have to inject myself?

Most are a small SubQ injection. Like an insulin pen, just under the skin. Sounds more intimidating than it is. The provider walks you through it.

Is it safe? Is it legal?

Yes. All protocols go through a licensed physician at OutfitMD. Peptides come from regulated 503A compounding pharmacies. OutfitMD is LegitScript certified. This is telemedicine, not a supplement.

CONSULTATIONS

What is the purpose of the initial consultation with Upgrade Labs Park City?

Your Upgrade Labs team member is here to walk you through the program, explain how it works, answer general questions about the options available, and help you identify what categories of optimization you are most interested in. They do not prescribe, diagnose, determine candidacy, or set dosing. All of that is handled exclusively by OutfitMD's licensed providers.

What is the purpose of the OutfitMD provider consultation (when required)?

For prescription products, a licensed OutfitMD physician reviews your health history, intake forms, and any relevant labs before deciding whether to issue a prescription. This consultation happens after you place your order and complete your consent forms. For non-prescription lyophilized peptides, a provider still reviews your case but a scheduled call is not required.

Why do some peptides need a consultation and others do not?

The products that require a consultation are prescription medications, meaning a licensed provider must evaluate you before they can legally be prescribed and dispensed. The lyophilized peptides that do not require a consultation are available through a different regulatory pathway and do not require a prescribing step, though a provider review still occurs.

PROTOCOLS

How do I know my dosing schedule and timing?

Dosing protocols are determined by your OutfitMD provider based on your individual situation. They will provide a specific schedule with your order. General timing principles, like whether to inject fasted or before sleep, vary by peptide and are covered in the materials that come with your protocol. Do not self-adjust your dosing without consulting OutfitMD.

How long before I notice results?

This varies by individual, peptide, and goal. Some people notice changes in sleep or energy within the first few weeks. Body composition changes typically take longer, often 60 to 90 days with consistency. Individual results vary and are not guaranteed.

What if I want to stop or change my protocol?

Contact OutfitMD directly. They manage your medical program and any changes to your protocol need to go through them.

Can I do this program if I already see a doctor or take other medications?

You should always inform your existing doctor about any new protocols. During the OutfitMD process, disclose all current medications and health conditions so the provider can make an informed decision. This program does not replace your primary care relationship.

Are there any side effects I should know about?

Side effects vary by peptide and individual. Your OutfitMD provider will review potential side effects as part of the process. If you experience anything unexpected after starting a protocol, contact OutfitMD directly.

ORDERING

How do I purchase my peptides?

After your initial consultation with Upgrade Labs, you will be provided a link to place your order at parkcity.upgradelabs.com. Discount codes can be applied at checkout. OutfitMD handles fulfillment from there. Select Peptides require a consultation with OutfitMD.

Is this covered by insurance?

No. All services and products in this program are paid out of pocket on a cash basis. Neither Upgrade Labs Park City nor OutfitMD submits claims to insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid for these services.

How are the peptides shipped and stored?

OutfitMD coordinates fulfillment through licensed pharmacy partners. Orders that require cold shipping are sent via FedEx Two-Day Cold Shipping. Your order will come with storage instructions specific to your product. Most lyophilized peptides should be refrigerated after mixing.

What makes this different from buying peptides online somewhere else?

Our program involves a licensed provider review for every order and fulfillment through a licensed pharmacy partner. That is a fundamentally different level of accountability and safety than purchasing from an unverified online source.

BACTERIOSTATIC WATER

What is Bacteriostatic water?

Bacteriostatic water ("bac water") is sterile water mixed with benzyl alcohol. Its primary purpose is to act as a diluent or solvent for injectable medications. The benzyl alcohol acts as an antimicrobial preservative, allowing the vial to be safely accessed multiple times over several weeks without contamination.

Do I need to order bacteriostatic water with my peptide?

Yes, if you are ordering any lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptide, you need bacteriostatic water (BAC water) to reconstitute it before use. Lyophilized peptides arrive as a dry powder and cannot be used until they are mixed with BAC water in the correct ratio. If you do not already have BAC water at home, you should add it to your order. Liquid peptides, such as Semaglutide + B12 vials or NAD+ injectable vials, come pre-mixed and do not require BAC water.

How do I know how much bacteriostatic water to use when mixing?

The mixing ratio is specific to your product and the dosing instructions provided by OutfitMD. Do not guess on ratios. Your instructions will come with your order and will tell you exactly how much BAC water to add to your specific vial. If you have questions after receiving your product, contact OutfitMD's support team directly.
